Vision
We want to create a health and safety-conscious exploration drilling community, focussed on the people, equipment, environment and procedures involved in exploration drilling.
DrillSafe was envisaged and launched to be a resource of safety information for the exploration industry with the sole aim of improving the standard of safety performance on drill sites. We do this through two mechanisms; the publication of technical articles focussed on major drill site hazards and the sharing of learnings from incidents and accidents. We strongly believe that sharing knowledge and learnings from incidents and accidents, is the only way that we can achieve the industry objectives of "no repeats" and "zero harm".
Mission
To create an online forum for the exchange of information between all stakeholders in the exploration drilling industry.
To disseminate health and safety information for the purposes of creating a safer exploration drilling environment.
To create a database of exploration-related incident statistics.
Everyone involved in the drilling industry is aware of the increased emphasis on health and safety performance demanded by mining and exploration companies, but unfortunately many contractors fall far short of mining company expectations.
DrillSafe is part of a set of initiatives to assist contractors, mining companies and other people involved in exploration drilling to better understand what these new requirements are and how they can be applied to ensure safety in the industry.
DrillSafe launch articles were featured in GeoDrilling International and Mining Weekly.
